Greek and Turkish negotiators have been meeting to lay the groundwork for talks aimed at ending the Cyprus’ decades old ethnic divisions.

Cyprus has been spilt between a Greek Cypriot south and a breakaway Turkish north, since Turkey invaded in 1974.

But as the politicians discuss how to break down the barriers, people in the village of Peyla are being hailed as a rare example of peaceful co-existence, as Al Jazeera’s Tim Friend reports.
