This week Everywoman goes back to Kenya post elections for an update on how the political violence has affected women.
The results are being tallied in Pakistan’s long-awaited parliamentary elections.
Sporadic violence on polling day killed at least 20 people, and the fear of attacks appears to have kept turnout low.
It’s estimated only 42 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots on Monday.
But the first unofficial results suggest most of them backed opposition candidates.
Pakistan’s election commission is not expected to confirm the result until later on Tuesday.

Thailand’s parliament has chosen a close ally of former leader Thaksin Shinawatra as its new Prime Minister.Samak Sondoraweh, who leads the People Power Party had been widely tipped to succeed Thaksin, who was ousted in a September 2006 coup.On the face of it the appointment of a Prime Minister should be seen as a confidence boosting step in Thailand following the 2006 coup, but some believe the choice of Samak will actually further divide the country.
After a day of heated debate Kenya’s Parliament has elected an opposition party member to become its speaker.The session was the first since the disputed Presidential elections that left hundreds dead in violence that followed. Africa bureau chief Andrew Simmons reports from Nairobi.
