Some of Norway’s most notorious criminals are doing time in the world’s first eco-prison. The focus is on an environmentally friendly jail sentence. It’s aimed at easing the transition for prisoners about to be set free. Al Jazeera’s Nick Clark reports on an experiment which is producing positive results.
Norwegian divers struggle for recognition - 19 Mar 08
Hundreds of Norewegian deep sea divers have accused the government of ‘neglect’.
Around 30 years ago, up to 4,000 divers were employed to build oil pipelines, at potentially dangerous depths.
Their efforts have helped make Norway one of the world’s richest nations.
But the divers claim their lives have been ruined by injuries suffered in the pursuit of oil.
