Israeli blockade forces Gazans to burn chicks alive -05May08

Al Jazeera’s Mike Hanna reports on the Gaza and Israeli blockade that is hindering any progress on peace.

The United Nations says it has once again been forced to stop humanitarian aid into the Strip because it has no fuel for its delivery vehicles.

Gaza has been facing a fuel shortage since Israel began cutting fuel supplies.

That has led to power shortages as well and affected business.

One chicken farm is now about to take drastic action because it can not keep going.

High prices and less land keep Haiti hungry - 26 April 08

The rising cost of food is one reason that Haitians are going hungry. The other is a lack of land to grow crops.

Deforestation has destroyed much of the farming land once used by Haiti’s rural communities.
