The scenes of destruction and devastation are growing worse by the day in earthquake-hit China.

Chinese authorities have sent out more than 130,000 soldiers and police, to help search for survivors, after Monday’s devastating quake. But as each hour passes, rescue efforts are turning into a grim search for bodies. China is now warning the death toll could top 50,000. There’s also a new threat that a nearby dam could burst, engulfing the entire town. Al Jazeera’s correspondent Melissa Chan reports.
