Baalbeck festivities return to Lebanon - 04 Aug 2008

Lebanon is celebrating the return of one of its most popular cultural events, the Baalbeck festival.

For two years, the Baalbeck festival has been shelved due to war and political unrest, but as Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Vall reports, it’s once again drawing an enthusiastic crowd.

Samir Kuntar returns home - 17 Jul 08

Samir Kuntar was sentenced to jail for 542 years, convicted of killing three people, including a father and his four year old girl, during a raid inside Israel.

His release came as part of a deal to return the bodies of two Israeli soldiers.

Palestinian family to recieve loved ones remains - 16 Jul 08

Al Jazeera’s Rula Amin met the family of Dalal al-Maghrebi, a female fighter with the Palestinian Fatah movement.

Her remains were recieved by Hezbollah, along with almost 200 other people in a prisoner exchange with Israel.

Samir Kantar’s family await his return - 16 July 08

Israel has agreed a prisoner exchange with Lebanon’s Hezbollah. The most high profile prisoner is Samir Kantar, the longest serving Lebanese prisoner in Israeli custody.
