Violence erupts in Kashmir - 14 Aug 08

Deadly clashes between protesters and police in Indian-administered Kashmir have continued for a fourth straight day.

One person died and three others were wounded on Thursday when police opened fire on Muslims demonstrating in Srinagar.

A curfew has been imposed in Srinagar, however community leaders are urging people to ignore it.

Weeks of anger over disputed land near a Hindu shrine, turned to violence earlier this week and has left at least 34 people dead.

Fatah men flee violent clashes in Gaza - 3 Aug 08

More than 30 Fatah supporters who fled into Israel on Saturday night, have now been returned to Gaza and are under Hamas Security forces’ detention.

A prominent Fatah leader was among the more than 150 Palestinians who sought refuge to escape the most fierce fighting in the Gaza Strip since Hamas took control of the area over a year ago.

The clashes have left at least nine people dead and nearly 100 wounded.

Fighting breaks out in Lebanon despite Doha deal - 22 Jun 08

Negotiations are underway to try to stop heavy fighting in northern Lebanon between government supporters and the Hezbollah-led opposition.

One month after the Doha peace agreement, there’s been machine gun fire and mortar explosions in the streets of Tripoli.

Our correspondent Zeina Khodr is there and sent this report.

Fighting continues in Sudan’s Abyei region - 21 May 2008

In the oil rich Abyei region of Sudan, more fierce fighting has killed 22 government soldiers.

It is not known how many rebels died.

The fighting, which flared despite a recent ceasefire, threatens a fragile peace accord supposed to end decades of civil war.
