Scores killed in Philippines flooding – 26 Sept 09

Scores of people have been killed and thousands have fled their homes in the Philippines after a whole month’s rain flel in just six hours.

Houses were swept away by swollen rivers and pepole were trapped on rooftops and flooded highways.

The storm is said to have brought the heaviest rianfall seen in the country since 1967.

Thousands of travellers are stuck in the chaos, including Al Jazeera’s correspondent Marga Ortigas, who filed this report from Manila airport.
