Brazilian police swoop on illegal Amazon loggers - 27 Feb 08

Brazilian police officers have swarmed into a town in the Amazon they say is the headquarters for illegal logging operations.

They’ve been targeting loggers who sell wood for construction in Brazil, and for export to the United States.

Aljazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo visited the town of Tailandia deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Brazil controversy over teen jail rape - 30 Nov 07
