There are just two days left for entries to be submitted to the British government’s competition, to make coal-fired power stations more environmentally friendly.

The challenge is to perfect the art of carbon capture, that’s collecting the carbon dioxide produced by burning coal before it can get into the atmosphere.

Probe into Heathrow crash – 18 Jan 08

Investigators will continue their probe into the crash landing of a British Airways plane at London’s Heathrow Airport on Thursday. Eighteen people were injured when the Boeing 777 flying from Beijing came down short of the runway ripping off the plane’s wheels. Aviation experts believe the crash was probably caused by a massive loss of power in the final stages of landing. Al Jazeera’s Richard Besitc reports.
