Ancient home found in Nazareth – 29 Dec 09

Archaeologists in the old city of Nazareth in Israel have discovered what they claim may have been a home dating back to the era of Jesus Christ. Christ is beileved to have spent his early childhood there. Al Jazeera’s Nisreen El-Shamyleh reports form Nazareth on the first structure from the early Roman period to be unearthed in that part of the world.

US bomb plot puts Yemen in spotlight – 31 Dec 09

The US is increasing its security assistance to Yemen following a failed airline bombing attempt in the US.

A Yemen gropu calling itself al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claimed to be behind the attempted attack and Yemeni officials said security forces clashed with suspected al-Qaeda fighters on Wednesday in the western part of the country.

Bangladesh media under pressure – 30 Dec 09

Following last year’s elections in Bangladesh, the country’s new democratic government promised media freedom.

But many journalists are continuing to accuse the government of harassment.

Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister, says she wants the country’s media to present the achievements of her governemnt, and not publish quote "untrue&quto; news.

Future of climate talks unclear – 29 Dec 09

Climate change and the future of tlaks on the issue will be one of the biggest political issues facing the world in 2010.

At the Copenhagen summit earlier this month, more than a 100 heads of state brokered a watered down deal on cutting carbon emissions, a move one delegate described as a "suicide pact for Africa".
